Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 12, 2026
1. Who we are
WPStack ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at wpstack.net. We provide a free tool that detects the technology stack behind WordPress websites.
2. What data we collect
We collect as little data as possible. Specifically:
- URLs you submit — the website addresses you enter for detection. These may be stored temporarily to cache results and reduce repeated processing.
- Usage count — a counter stored in your browser's local storage to track daily free checks. This never leaves your device.
- Pro status — a flag in your browser's local storage indicating whether you have activated Pro. This never leaves your device.
- Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps, collected automatically by our hosting provider (Railway). These are retained for up to 30 days for security and operational purposes.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information. No signup is required.
3. How we use your data
- To perform the technology detection you requested
- To cache results so repeated lookups are faster
- To enforce daily free-tier limits (client-side only)
- To monitor uptime, diagnose errors, and improve the service
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Cookies and local storage
We do not use tracking cookies. We use browser local storage solely to store your daily usage count and Pro activation status on your own device. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for wpstack.net.
5. Affiliate links
Some links to plugins, themes, and tools displayed in detection results are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not influence detection results — we report what we find, regardless of affiliate relationships.
6. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate WPStack:
- Railway — hosting and infrastructure. Subject to Railway's own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's servers. Google may collect basic request data. See Google's privacy policy for details.
7. Data retention
Cached detection results are stored for up to 24 hours. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Local storage data persists in your browser until you clear it manually.
8. Your rights
Because we collect no personal identifying information beyond server logs, there is no profile to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold any data about you and wish to request its deletion, contact us at the address below.
9. Children's privacy
WPStack is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of WPStack after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
